Lila Poonawalla has strong faith in the capabilities of people, and it is for this reason that she and her husband Firoz are deeply involved with the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI). Lila is widely acknowledged as a pioneer and authority in QCFI.

People have boundless potential in creating opportunities in the work arena, by increasing their skills and knowledge, but Quality also encompasses a correct attitude and a proper environment to enhance that potential. Lila propagates the QC philosophy actively, by introducing the Quality Circle in various organizations in India – not only in financial and corporate sectors, but also in schools and hospitals. Lila and Firoz Poonawalla believe that if properly planned, the QC Movement can cultivate team spirit and change attitudes to lead a quality life.

As Chairperson Emeritus of the Maharashtra Chapter of Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), and Vice President of the QCFI (India), Lila Poonawalla has been propagating the Quality Circle Technology via countless presentations and by organizing Quality Conventions all over the country. Lila Poonawalla, at lectures and presentations and at personal level talks, propagates the unique QC philosophy of planned improvement in Self and Service.

QUALITY CIRCLE EXCELLENCE CENTRE
Another project spearheaded by Lila and Firoz Poonawalla, which has been their dream project since long, is the Quality Circle Excellence Center, located in the heart of Pune’s industrial belt – Pimpri-Chinchwad, and is in the last stage of completion. The Poonawallas have left no stone unturned to convert their dream project into reality. At this center, activities revolve around people building, in the form of effective training courses. The center is equipped with a convention hall, conferencing facilities, library and audio-visual facilities, besides training rooms for imparting effective training to the new entrants of the concept of Quality Circles.

Besides the above, a cafeteria, open-air landscaped sit-outs for meetings, and residential facilities for participants are also in the pipeline. Employees from various organizations in Pune, who believe in the cause, have contributed towards the project by generously offering their salaries of one day. Apart from this, Government, private and public sector organizations have come forward to provide support.

The Center is the Poonawallas' tribute to the future generations, an investment in today’s Youth, who will make that future come true!
